In addition to our internationally recognized Karate for Kids program, we offer the Taekwondo for Tiny Tigers program. The Tiny Tiger program was developed specifically for preschool age children ages 2 through 6. This program offers children a strong foundation in essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline. In addition, the program is designed to improve children's motor skills and enhance their ability to pay attention and follow directions. All classes are taught using the most safe, fun, and exciting instruction methods available for this age group. This program works in conjunction with the Karate for Kids program, thereby emphasizing the same important monthly themes and value system.

ATA Tiny TigersJust like in the Karate for Kids program, Tiny Tigers have their own unique victory patch and "Victory Stars." Stars are earned in the same way as the Karate for Kids program, with slight modifications in recognition of the preschool age of the child. Four different colored victory patches are available to accommodate all the stars that can be earned by a high achieving Tiny Tiger. Except for the logo, the four victory patches are the same as the Karate for Kids patches.

Upon graduation from the Tiny Tigers program into the "Junior" or "Big Kid" program, Tigers are rewarded by the opportunity to wear the "Big Kids" or "Karate for Kids" patch.

The rank and testing system used by the Tigers is slightly different than that of the Karate for Kids. Tigers can earn eight collectable animal patches to display on the belts as follows: Tiger for orange belt; Cheetah for yellow; Lion for camo; Eagle for green; Phoenix for purple; Dragon for blue; Cobra for brown; Panther for red. All eight patches, as earned, can be displayed on the child's belt.

There are many reasons for kids to become involved in the martial arts. We have developed a program based on traditional Taekwondo for kids called Karate for Kids. The Karate for Kids system is based on a lifetime learning concept in addition to technical skills. The building blocks for our system are monthly themes such as (see table).

    Goals Friendship Perseverance
    Self-Control Confidence Self-Improvement
    Courtesy Self Awareness Respect
    Integrity Self-Esteem Dedication
In addition to monthly themes, our system includes the unique victory patch. Kids are rewarded special "Victory Stars." These different colored stars are rewarded for outstanding performance in karate class, school, home or at a tournament competition. Kids may receive the following stars for the following deeds:

"America's Leader in the Martial Arts"

We offer what we believe is the best martial art in the world. Taekwondo is an exciting and powerful martial art known for its dynamic kicking and hand techniques. Although these martial art techniques are centuries old, our programs are always evolving to keep pace with the rapidly changing world.

We realize that each student possesses different physical abilities. Size and strength vary with each individual. Once you have acquired a strong foundation in the basics, our program will enhance your physical capabilities and maximize your self-defense skills. You will understand exactly what it takes, mentally and physically, to defend yourself or your loved ones should the need ever arise.

ATA Black Belt AcademyAt the ATA Black Belt Academy, we are not interested in just teaching self-defense, we are interested in the complete personal development of each student. Individual attention is a feature of each and every class, allowing all students to progress quickly and confidently toward their personal goals. Our instructors take their responsibility seriously as role models for younger students, teaching them the importance of strong character, leadership and good values.

The teaching curriculum at the ATA Black Belt Academy is based on two concepts: "positive mental attitude" and "high goal setting." We feel so positive about this program that we promise to give you and your family the most professional, well supervised and the highest quality classes available in any sport or art.

Specifics: Learn self-defense like the pros. This training system is not a traditional martial arts program. It is designed to quickly teach usable, real-life self-defense based on simple principles and instinctive movements. Krav Maga has been taught to hundreds of law enforcement agencies in the USA and abroad. You will learn how to defend yourself against: • Common chokes • Grabs • Bearhugs • Weapons (guns, knives and sticks) • Rape prevention techniques and tactics • Street fights • You ' ll also learn how to spot danger signs and react accordingly to protect yourself.

Benefits: Get into great shape with a cardiovascular workout that uses heavy bag work and sports conditioning techniques to burn fat and tone muscle better than other forms of exercise.
Teaching Concept: The Krav Maga system is based on a simple and effective self-defense system that emphasizes instinctive movements, practical techniques and real-life training scenarios.

The Leadership Program was developed by the ATA to develop future leaders, not only for the ATA, but for the community and for America.
"Making America Strong One Black Belt Leader at a Time!"

Our Leadership Program is our highest level program. Students in our Leadership Program have not only committed themselves to train to the rank of Black Belt and beyond, they have also committed themselves to being leaders, not only in our school, but in life. These students are working to share the benefits of martial arts training, by being leaders for others to follow and setting a standard of "Black Belt Leadership Excellence" in all that they do in life.

We have two separate Leadership Programs, one for Karate for Kids and one for Adults. Each of these programs are designed to fit the needs of each of these separate age groups.

Leadership Program members wear a special collar on their uniform: Red/White/Blue for Junior Leaders and Red for Adult Leaders. This collar represents their commitment to being a leader. They also receive a special Leadership Patch to be worn on the left sleeve of their uniform. These symbols act as visual reminders to keep the students focused, and to remind them that they are role models who others will want to follow.

Like the Black Belt Club and Master Club, Leadership Program members have a special weekly Leadership Class to attend (see schedule). During these special Leadership Classes, students will learn advanced Leadership ATA Life Skills such as perserverence and self esteem, Leadership Skills - such as goal setting, casting a vision, and being proactive, learn advanced weapon techniques with Sam Dan Bong (three-sectional staff), Sshang Nat (Kama), Gum Do (sword), and Ground Fighting, in addition to the Black Belt Club and Master Club training.

Junior Leadership for Karate for Kids

Our Junior Leadership Program for Karate for Kids is designed to teach children ages 7-12 how to lead in school rather than just follow the crowd. It teaches our kids to resist peer pressure and do the right thing. Our Junior Leaders learn how to set an example and be a role model. Junior Leaders have opportunities to assist in classes and act as role models for other students. Older Junior Leaders are encouraged to mentor younger students and teach them by setting an example.

    Adult Leadership

Our Adult Leadership Program is designed to teach adults how to succeed, not only in Taekwondo, but in all areas of their lives. Adult Leaders learn skills such as being proactive, goal setting, presenting themselves as leaders, and guiding and mentoring others. Adult Leaders may assist in Taekwondo classes to gain experience leading others and being a mentor to lower ranking students. Learning the skills to assist, guide, and ultimately lead others is invaluable to any one succeeding in life.

Our Leadership Program is committed to develop future leaders to make our community and America strong now and in the future
